RESUMEN
Mujer de 27 años de edad con cervicalgias de un año de evolución, quien en los últimos dos meses presenta progresión de síntomas con: irradiación del dolor al hombro izquierdo y pérdida de fuerza en miembro superior derecho.
Al exámen se constata paresia braquial derecha con hipoestesia en dermatomas C5-C6.
La RM de columna cervical demuestra compresión medular secundaria a voluminosa lesión ocupante intracanalar de límites netos, extendida hacia el neuroforámen C5-C6 derecho y el espacio paraespinal con compromiso vertebral. La misma adopta forma en “reloj de arena”, con áreas espontáneamente brillantes en T1 y marcado refuerzo homogéneo postcontraste.
Un tumor marrón oscuro fue extirpado por abordaje cervical anterolateral siendo los hallazgos histopatológicos típicos de melanoma.

SUMMARY
A 27-year-old woman with a 1-year history of neck pain who presented, during the previous 2 months of admission, progression of  pain to the left shoulder and weakness of the right arm. On examination she had significant weakness in the right arm with disminished sensation on C5 and C6 dermatomes.
Cervical MRI showed spinal cord compression secondary to a large intraspinal dumbblled well-demarked tumor that is extended from the C5-C6 right intervertebral foramen to the paraspinal region.    This lesion had a bright area on  T1-weighted images and homogeneous enhancement after gadolinium.
After anterolateral cervical approach a dark brown  tumor  was removed and histopathological  findings were typical of melanoma.
